Cooker Hood FCU or not?

Can anyone tell me why my new cooker hood says it should be connected via a FCU. Whats wrong with an appropriately fused 13A plug/socket?

nothing really afaict.

i belive this is a ruse by manufacturers to get arround the must supply a fitted plug legislation.
