Cooker hood power cable; what is this thing?

Hello

Our cooker hood control panel cable has called it quits and despite my finding the problem, I cannot find a replacement part for it.

The portion that is wrong is the long black cable here which branches out within the electric control panel into the various switch blocks for the fan and light controls.

Does anyone have any idea what this sort of cable is called? I cannot find it on any parts websites, diagrams or listings.

The cooker hood is: Whirlpool AKR676/01IX (857867615040)

Thanks very much! In the first photo the problem I had is that the metal strips on that white board (I don't know my terminology here) have been burned out. Do you know the name of that little board that I would have to re-attach the new wiring to?

Looks more like single core tri rated 105 degree appliance wire, threaded through a peice of black wiring harness.

with hindsight. it probably is due to the heat inside the hood

Does the PCB in the first picture push into the item in the second picture ?

If the answer is yes then it looks like a custom designed plug ( the PCB ) and socket.

I would replace them with a miniature 5 way screw terminal strip.

Or I might move the brown wire to the spare connector on the PCB and make a matching change in the socket.

But without seeing the inside of the socket, which may have components inside it is impossible to give a definate fix.

Sounds like maybe I would be smartest calling someone in if the manufacturer does not have a drop-in replacement.

It's a pretty simple job to just replace that with a terminal strip. If you want to keep it looking original, a little PCB like that can be made easily enough with some accurate measurements.

Are you sure it's the cable that's gone...there are a myriad of problems that can happen to cooker hoods..the most common that I see are motor/capacitor problems and PCB and switches. Anyway here is a link for 28 pages of spares for your hood...hope this helps
