Cooker Hood Stud

Hi all

In process of installing a cooker hood and there is a vertical stud right in the centre line.

I have around 100mm either side of the stud which is not enough for the 125mm hole I was going to make for ducting.

Apart from drilling through stud (which is not ideal as this is what hood is attached to), only thing I can think of is to get an adapter to convert to rectangular ducting and pivot 90 degrees. Something like this

Fits over flat channel to connect in a straight line over a 125mm o.d. spigot e.g wall outlet/appliance spigot. Rectangular internal connection 204 x 60mm to fit 204 x 60mm o.d. channel. Round connection size 125mm i.d.

Cut hole as wide and long as the chimney cover allows and use a flexible mylar duct and squeeze it into the shape of the opening.

If that's a stud wall, ensure any vapour barrier is resealed.

can flexible ducting flex in this way- I thought it could be used around corners but maintained the circular profile (if that makes sense)

It will form a rectangle or any other shape if you want it to.
