An extractor fan and cooker ignition switch should be run on (1.0 1.5mm) from a switched (3 to 5amp) FCU, preferably from a 2.5mm supply.
would anybody come off the cooker switch 6mm for the FCU??

Yes, I'd try and keep to 6mm on the part of the circuit protected only at 30A or whatever, then only use the thinner stuff after the fused switch. You might to can invoke the short lengths rule, but personally I don't think that is why it is there, the intention of the reg writers was more for meter cupboards etc. Also one needs an adequate junction box as the fat wire can't loop though the diddy terminals on the fused spur (you'll have enough fun getting 6mm in on its own).
Ideally probably prefer to run the FU off the nearest socket instead.

mk do actually say on thier spec sheet that the terminals on thier logic plus range will take 2x6mm

wouldn't fancy trying to get it in the box though
