Cooker Regs 50mm gap to cupboard

I have been trying to find the regs and not getting a definitive answer.
My wall cupboards are inline with the edge of the slot in cooker and are 500mm higher than the cooker top. My fitting instructions are not clear to me - see attached- neither is any info I can find on the web. I have seen some measurements stating a min 50mm away from the edge of the cooker but in the diagrams that only seems to be if the units are at 450 high but mine are 500 high.
I also have an extractor hood at 780 above the cooker the same width as the cooker and the wall units butt up to that.

I think you are misunderstanding the diagram. The 50mm refers only to how close a unit can be directly alongside the hob. In other words, the risk of flames liking up from the hob, around a pan, and onto anything directly alongside the hob. For instance, daft idea, but you might decide you want a full height fridge alongside the cooker, but it would need to be spaced away by at least 50mm.

Sorry I posted the wrong picture which is one I found on the web, I have replaced it with a photo from the actual fitting manual.
Thank you - yes I am definitely misunderstanding the diagram.

I have seen so many variations of measurements that seem to state a gap so the wall units are not inline with the cooker edge like mine are. I am about to buy new wall units and worry that a future cooker installer will not install. But just downloaded a new delongi oven manual and its the same picture as my old one only with a 200mm gap
