Copper pipe alternative for exposed gaspipe (Ed.)

I have copper external gas pipe on the side of the building leading to flat from gas meter. Have had few thefts with the rise of copper price and looking for alternative. Is there anything else that can be used? Thanks in advance.

I don't know anyone who would try stealing a gas copper pipe.
Just put some gas tape on it and nobody will touch it.

Unfortunately, yes they will. They just track it back to the meter, shut the gas off and pipeslice away.

Absolutely copper gas lines get stolen I've seen the meter go as well.

Copper and brass is one of the most lucrative scrap metals, they put processes into place where you need to have ID, bank accounts etc but unfortunately human nature and greed being what it is there are still ways to fence it. Products of society I guess.
