I want to put copper ridging along the top of my roof, my copper supplier has told me some contractors are using adhesive to fix the copper sheet to the roof tiles but I cannot find out what adhesive to use,any ideas.

Hi A few roofer use adhesive to fix tiles/ slates, but its not a practice that roofers would crow about. Metal ridge will expand at different rates to that of slates / tiles, which causes stress / failure over a period of time. Its good practice to use clipping system and appropriate lengths to achieve a job that will be fault free for the life of the building. Good Luck
The ideal way to fix a copper ridge would be to first create suitable timber ridge fixed securely from which you could attach a galvanised angle to give you a suitable lap on the top tile/slate. The copper would then be formed to cover all of this in 2m lengths with hidden fixings. A lot of work but the correct way of achieving tghe desired effect. Adhesive should NEVER be used, it simply won't last.
I'm a spealist roofing contractor and recently I've had lots of inquiries from people with thatched roofs asking for a copper ridge. The theory is the copper contaminates the rain water and kills the moss, stopping it from growing on the north face.
Is this just an old wives tale?
ive seen it fitted on many roofs (including my folks) after theyve been cleaned and the moss is back. i was told to think of the copper in the way of diluting orange juice. the more water u get the weaker the orange juice!!!! i could show you plenty of roofs like this.
