I hope this is the correct forum

What would be the best way to copy video tapes.?

Is it just a case of linking 2 VCRs with a scart lead and then playback on one and record with the other :?:
Thanks :D

Worked for me in the past.

Thought everybody was into transfering video to dvd nowadays.

Havn't tried it myself yet reckon it's a handy way to go though.

i personaly have all mines [2videos digital box conected purely by the ariel cable into the digi out and into vido1 out then into video 2
video 2 is tuned into the output frequency of the first video but you can only record in the one direction from 1 to 2
you can do with a scart cable not shure if it works both ways eg 1to 2 and 2 to 1 so if it doesnt work one direction try it the other

another point if its a rights protected tape it may not work it will record but the picture will go clear then fuzzy in a cycle

The disadvantages doing it this way are:

1. You won't get stereo sound on the copy.

2. The picture quality of the copy won't be as good as when using a direct SCART connection as the signal goes through a lot more processing.
