Corner broken off victorian iron fireplace, how to mend?

I was thinking some very strong glue the type that has two tube you mix?
Use that to glue a metal plate under it and on the join. Then some filler for the missing bits on the corner?

Open to suggestions.
Currently in the dog house as haven't fixed this in ages.

Yes I'd go with the metal putty .

I'd use epoxy - but I'd use JB Weld.
