Hi all

I know this is going to sound like a really stupid question but I'd like to ask it anyway. It is regarding the correct order of building an extension.

Once the footings have been dug and then filled with concrete does the bricklayer lay up to damp proof course level all the way around and then the hardcore laid then sand blinding then insulation and screed etc?

I know it sounds like a silly question but I'm not sure whether the hardcore/sand blinding/insulation screeding etc can be done without the walls being there.

Please excuse my ignorance.

Usual practice is to build the walls up to what will be the finished slab level, then apply the hardcore, dpm, insulation.
Concrete is then poured on top and levelled off with the wall.

What do you mean by slab level? I know of Damp Proof Course level.

Is slab level DPC level where you would start using block/brick?

Again, sorry for asking a stupid question.
