Corrosion/rust on Chrome radiators and all bathroom fittings

I have recently replaced the bathroom fittings and two chrome towel rail radiators. The radiators have already started to show signs of rusting and in addition all the fittings that have been replaced seemed to ave come up with bubbles on them/corrosion. The rust has also set upon the new chrome baskets for soap, shampoo etc. I also noticed that the brass and chrome handles are showing the same signs. Some of the new light fittings in the house which are chrome based are also showing signs of rust.
Can someone please tell me what might be wrong. The fittings are of good quality and so are the radiators. I have already replaced the bathroom fittings once and am reluctant to replace them until I know hat the problem could be.

The fittings are of good quality and so are the radiators.

The second statement contradicts the first. If the towel rails are rusting, the plating is inadequate, and therefore is not good quality.

Either the preparation was not good enough, or the plating is too thin, particularly the nickel if it was a three step plating. Chromium is not waterproof, and so a sealer may have helped at installation time. Otherwise it is poor quality control.

Agree with that. It has to be 3 layer plating (copper, nickel, chrome) to make it rust resistant. It usually isn't 3 layer but it takes a while for the steel to corrode through the chrome by which time most people have discarded the receipts.

Unfit for purpose.

pi**ing on the towel rail doesn't help.

but it takes a brave man to pi** on the light fittings.
