sons corsa 1.0 envoy had a would not start due to flat battery, re charged battery and when tried to start engine management light is flashing, got loan of fault code reader and its showing ...immobilisor wrong signal. tried new battery on it but still the same , anyone any ideas without towing the car to vauxhall dealer and paying a fortune.

Does the car start with the light on ?.

If so, get the light cancelled out by a local independent garage for about £20.00.

It may be just a glitch due to having the battery change, but if the light re-appears after its been cancelled, then you have a problem. If its to do with the immobiliser, it may mean the immobiliser needs resetting.

A local vauxhall dealer would do all of the above first but charge you the earth, like you said.

all you need is to have the key reprogrammed, also check inside the key to check the immobilser chip is still there? its a very small black block
