I'm looking at buying a house on tight budget, and am trying to way up the pros of cons of buying one that needs extensive work. I was hoping the experts on here may be able to give me ANY advice.
I've seen a 2 bed terrace in Liverpool that needs a full refurb -
New boiler/ heating
Plastering throughout
Rewiring throughout
New kitchen and bathroom
And all the other obvious refurb costs
I'll be happy to do any non skilled work myself, such as ripping out, fitting kitchen cabinets, painting etc
I'll be getting a full survey, if this does not throw up any major structural work, how much would this be to do? (ball park) Also is this a viable way to get on the property ladder without much money(I'd be there a good few years), or could it end up costing more if I'm having to pay somebody else to do the work?
The house is 40K (the rest of the street averages £60-90). I've put a couple of pictures of it in my photo gallery
Thanks in advance
