Cost of replacing upvc door mechanism

Can anybody advice on a reasonables cost of replacing a upvc door mechanism. Ours has just broken, luckily in the closed postion, so now we can't get the door open.

I assume that getting to the mechanism will require taking the hinges off sine it's stuck closed.

Is £170ish (£65 call out plus parts) a reasonable amount? That's what yorkshire windows just quoted us. They fitted the windows originally.

We tried to get them to change them under the guarantuee (10 years) but they reckon because the previous owners of the house had them fitted then the guarantee is invalid.

How old is the mechanism? If it's fairly recent - I'd be chasing the installer.

Budget between £120-£150 depending on type of mechanism, and thats supplied and fitted. Call a couple of local UPVC repairers or locksmiths and get them to quote you.
