Hi,

I need to include some coursing blocks to get the right height for the window lintel on our extension to be level with the existing windows.

Is there any difference in whether I set the lintel on the coursing blocks or should I include the coursing blocks just below a row of full blocks to get the right height?

I also need to work out the best way to set the height of the door lintel which is one brick course above the window lintel.

I don't have any issues cutting the standard blocks to fit, but wondered what is best practice and how building control view the use of cut blocks over purpose made coursing blocks?

The blocks and coursing blocks are both Celcon blocks.

TIA.

As long as they are well-bedded - and not cut too thin, there will be no issue in having them directly under the lintel.

Thanks, they will be a standard 65mm high to get the right window lintel height. I'll have 200mm overlap either side on the lintels.
