Hi

I have dug a trench and soakaway in the garden and with some rain due this week I want to try and cover this until I get back to complete it DIY project.

what is best way to cover this?

I had though the wooden boards you see landscapers use when working on grass etc for the diggers, any idea what these are called? Anything else as an options?

Trench is 10m long and 0.5m wide, soakaway is 1 x 1 m

Thanks

Guess they would use Scaffold Planks. But they could could be expensive for a one-off job.

Me, I'd look for a quantity of pallets and use them. For the pit a large piece of 3/4 or 1inch (shuttering) ply. Cover the edges by at least 50% of the hole size.

The ones I've seen being used look like bigger boards than planks, cant seem to find them anywhere.

The rain isnt due to be too bad will leaving it uncovered be a really bad option. The soakaway as good tree coverage and drainage ground so not too worried about that more the trench.
