Hi all,

First post on this website but it looks helpful so here it goes!

I have a brick shed in our garden which is ancient. It used to be part shed part outdoor loo but the previous owners have knocked through the internal wall to make it one room (and removed the toilet etc) but they havent replaced the hole that the loo door has left in the outside wall. I know I should probably get it bricked up properly but I'm looking for a cheap option.

I have considered drilling batons into where the door frame was and fixing weatherboard to it, does anyone have any thoughts as to whether this is a good idea?

Regards,
Simon

That sounds fine, but if you want to make the shed more secure consider using 4x2 studs rather than battens for the side fixings, and screw them to the masonry with 100 or 150mm frame fixings. Screwing the cladding to these timbers would make them harder to lever off.
