Hi all,

I've just started working as caretaker at a school, but my background is in property refurb so I am trying to bring as much of the maintenance in house as possible.

There was a flood in a room last year and the tiles in one area are looking ugly at the join just trying to work out what would be the best option for covering the join

There are alot of different profiles about that would cover that, but personally, i'd be looking in all the cupboards etc and perhaps finding some undamaged tiles in inconspicuous areas and replacing them with the damaged ones.

The problem with profiles fitted over that is they are prone to lifting nd coming loose causing a trip hazard etc.

Hi crazydaze,

How easy is it to remove a tile and swap it as they are stuck down I thought it would destroy them trying to take them up.

As it is a school you are right with the trip hazard it just seemed the easier option for me as I'm not a carpet fitter and it's one area I've not 'dabbled' in.

Cheers

They should lift reasonably easily unless they have been stuck with non-standard adhesive, they are often laid on tackifier which will grip but allow it to come up if you need to move them.
