I have an outbuilding which i want to demolish, as its beyond repair. Underneath the outbuilding extends the basement from my house.

The outbuilding has a large 'hole' which exposes the basement. I was thinking of using a beam and block floor to cover this large hole and finish with paving slabs.

What would be the best way of waterproofing the beam and block area?

Many thanks
Andy

the best way is definately not cheap!!
most garden centres have a display that is a waterproof membrane that is poured on to the surface and left to set 100% waterproof and you can then lay a deck on top if you so wish.

thanks kevindgas.

would a roll of damp proof membrane be suitable? if so, would i be able to put a screed down and then pave over this?

would probably work so long as the suppporting material can withstand the weight.

Wickes do a liquid damp proofer that i used in my wetroom bathroom before laying some self level compound and then tiling.
