Wondering if there's a cover that could hide the hole around this toilet waste pipe? It might have to be flexible because the pipe is sitting just above the skirting.

Thanks. What do you mean about the flexibile connection being a future problem?

I think the issue is. They can sag/ leak, clog/block. But I am not a plumber or builder - just DIY. From reading on here they seem to be a problem. The bit in the picture seems supported by the skirting board but how far does it go behind the plasterboard - any bends.

Oh heck. I've absolutely no idea. I've just moved in. This is an upstairs toilet. I've no clue where that pipe runs to reach an outside drain.

Don't panic too much - 1,000s of people probably have them with no issues. When you compare one to a proper rigid pipe it doesn't take too much imagination as to how they are not ideal.
They can be useful for awkward off angle connections and they can also be useful for lazy fitters cutting time and cost corners.

Judging by the looks of that hole whoever installed that toilet couldn't be bothered to do a tidy job. I don't think that collar would cover all of that hole but it would, I suppose, make a very untidy job a bit neater.

Yes I suspect you're right about the fitter.

I agree. I'm just looking to tidy it up.

I'm not sure how a rigid plastic one would fit snug against the wall and skirting.

If this is your own Gaff, then I'd get that looked at, flexi Pan Connectors are never ideal, even less so when the downstream end is hidden inside a wall. My concern is, should it start leaking, then how long, (and how much mess will it make), before it's spotted and dealt with?
