Covering up extractor fan ideas

Any ideas what to do to cover this space?

I have enough decor panel to frame something up and have the plinth I can run along the top like either side but not sure what’s going to look the part…

Can you make a front to match the one below it?
P.S. if you have some similar colour paint, you might want to paint that batten that is over the top of them all so it blends in better.

box it in with some mdf and use each side for storage or plants

I’d rather something cover the full space as narrow box in middle would look daft imo. The ‘batten’ is just spare plinths in their cardboard box

Yeah new kitchen. What’s not great? Just needing an idea to fill the space as original design had it as a usable space with no extractor pipe…

Why didn’t the designer provide a solution for this area? Most odd

Sorry, quick and dirty image, but this is what I would do, plus maybe a cornice over the top?...
