Had a callout yesterday, customer has had "electrician" in to fit new wall lights and remove old. New ones fitted ok and cable chased in round top of ceiling and down side of door frame to switch. Change to flex and run down to skirting, drill hole through wall, staplt to door frame and skirting to plug into single socket. Customer says "can you fit fused connector unit instead of socket" "electrician" says "no cant do it, illegal". Customer very skeptical and queries this, "electrician" packs up an walks out. Customer left with no lights in living room, dining roon and half of kitchen. Cause of problem? "electrician had cut live feed to switch and left it live in backbox.

I'm sure the customer did everything he knew he should do to ensure that he got someone competent.

Then he gave the job to the cheapest guy he could find down the pub.

the main problem with cowboys, not only do they under charge, they leave things dangerous and most of all, their spurs damage your laminate, solid wood or carpeted flooring shen the run off.
