Crack on ceiling

I had two receptions and I knocked down the wall to make a bigger reception / living room.
Unfortunately, the ceiling tends to crack repeatedly. I have tried using a filler and repainted in the past but the crack comes back.

For some reason, there are two cracks : one where the wall used to be ( as expected ) but the other one is perpendicular to it! Any ideas on how to hide this completely?

dig the cracks out and check if the joints are taped.
if not you’ll not stop it without boarding over, taping and skim.
if the joints are taped refill with car body filler and sand back . that’s your best shot .

Believe it or not, I paid £5k to this builder to demolish the wall and then apply multifinishing to both rooms and tidy up.
I can't see any tape. So, I preume I now need to put a tape over it and apply filler?
I have seen plastic mesh at a DIY store. Will those be better than tape?

so i’m presuming you dug some plaster away back to the plasterboard either side of the crack , and there’s no scrim tape?

Tungsten scraper. Drag along crack and make a 20mm wide 2mm deep chanel.
Seal. Use fibre fuse tape cut to width and toupret standard filler. When dry sand and fill again. When dry sand prime and paint. By setting tape bellow surface you won't get a bump and it's the best tape (almost vs paper) easier to use..

I made a small hole and used my phone's torchlight to see if there's any paper underneath.

There's nothing. I made the hole with a screwdriver and I could feel a solid surface like plasterboard on the other side.

Tap tap tap over both cracks and the tone change will tell you which way the joists go and which crack you can add screws
