Hi All,

A bit over four years ago, I asked some questions here about re-pointing re-pointed a crack in our gable wall.

After raking it out:
I re-pointed and it's been good since...

Until the other day I was looking at it again and noticed a small (<1mm) crack has re-appeared down the whole original length.

I figure I should use some of those crack stitching rods (helifxi / twistfix), but how do I find out what size to use? They seem to supply all different sizes with no guidance on what's appropriate for what job.

Thanks,
Adam

Each piece will be a different lengh, as you can only fit them were the bed joints are horizontal, get lenghs of stainless spiral bar, cut to required size, get it as deep as you can into the joint, use plenty of resin to bed the rods, then finish by pointing with mortar.
