hi. Just started renewing our bathroom and stumble across a problem already. The soil pipe where the manifold connects has a crack. Not only that but some cowboy has cut a hole in it and stuck a pipe in with silicone and it too is leaking everywhere. Any ideas how and if I can fix this?

You "may" be able to cut the pipe off below the "bodged" white plastic pipe and fit an adapter to fit inside the pipe. BEFORE you cut anything see if you can measure the diameter and take that dimension to a plumbers merchants. The sort of thing I had in mind was:-

That's what I didn't want to hear really. Didn't fancy a big job lol. Access isn't great and the crack goes below that pipe hole anyway. I've seen these strap on bosses which I could possibly use to blank it off or possibly even keep it in use. It's mainly the crack I'm not too sure how to approach. I've read about people using clay and the concrete around it?
