Hi All, I've noticed a crack in the harling (roughcasting) at the front of our house and a small patch has actually come away. Although we've been in this house for 18 years, I only recently noticed that there is a huge bead of silicone at either side of the harling on our mid-terrace home. Our harling is different to the others housew in our row (looks like it was re-done). Going to start looking very unsightly, but I am more concerned as to why this has happened. Any ideas? I'm hoping thermal and nothing structural. Thanks in advance for any replies.

My understanding. For what it's worth. Not my area .....
No weight with the red.
Weight and movement with ground swelling in winter and drying in summer cause stress cracks in yellow.
