Hi, we have had an internal alleyway rendered. It is not heated, but it is protected from the elements. One wall is new and is a breezeblock wall, the other is an existing rendered wall, that was meshed before re-rendering. The first time this area was rendered it started to blow and crack into large sections within a few months. Both walls had the new render taken off by the builder, as it was so bad. A different plasterer re rendered the walls a few weeks later and the same thing has happened. The existing mesh wall cracked first and has opened up significantly, it has blown off the wall. The new breeze block wall is doing the same thing but is a few weeks behind the other wall. We have left it since Christmas to try to see what is happening. There are no leaks or movement in the underlying walls, as we would have detected them by now. One wall is on a new foundation, the other is on an existing foundation. The newly laid slab and screed on the floor has not cracked, neither has the newly plastered ceiling.......The builder is beyond dispair, he has no ideas why it has happened and we do not want to redo the walls without an idea of why it has happened twice, (as it may happen a third time)...Any ideas?
