Hello

I have these cracks all over the house on every side. Any idea what is causing them and more importantly is it anything I need to worry about.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like a duff batch of bricks to me. Either that or the brickies were blind. What are they supposed to be? London Stock bricks?

They look awful. Size and quality wise.

I’m not sure … here is a full view of south facing side …

Those cracks are indicative of shrinkage after laying, not defective bricks.

They look like calcium silicate bricks, which are prone to such cracking.

Thanks for the replies - so basically, it doesn’t look great but nothing to worry about. Is it going to make the house more prone to moisture if rain can get in to the cracks?

It looks like those may be the type of brick that absorb a lot of water anyway, and that would be the reason for the cracks in the first place.

Is it anything to be concerned about and do I need to do anything?

Thanks.

There appears to be a lot of lime bloom in that mortar too, along with a lot of vertical staining.

This is normally indicative of significant weather exposure, and all in all these issues are mainly cosmetic.
