Hi

Just moved into a new house, and have discovered a hell of a lot of cracks in the plasterboard, all around the house. The house in about 20 years old.

The cracks are around the windows, where the walls meet the ceilings and some run vertically - floor to ceiling in some cases. They aren't very wide, most of them just hairline cracks, but there's LOADS of them.

Is this something to be concerned about?

I've checked outside to see if the cracks go right through, but they don't. Although, there are a number of cracks in the rendering from where the double glazing was installed.

Thanks

Probably just settlement cracks.....all new places suffer with them, worse n the winter, the painters will probably have had to paint them with no form of heating, then the new owner moves in, in the winter and puts the heating on...hence cracks.

Leave them to run their course and re decorate in the spring.
