Hi There

I would be very grateful if somebody could offer any advice on how to deal with or what may be causing cracks in plasterboard walls? Sorry if this has been asked many times before.

We have just viewed a potential property that is 23 years old but has many cracks in several of the rooms, mainly upstairs.

I have enclosed a few pictures, The cracks are evenly spaced about the width of a plasterboard sheet and are in the middle of the walls, in the corners where walls meet and beneath windows (in the centre) They are only 0 - 1,5 mm thick

In the same property the thermolite blocks have cracked on 3 walls of the garage in several places so don't know if that has anything to do with it?

According to the owner all of the cracks have been there many years, just not been repaired.

There are no cracks visible on any of the external walls.

What would be the best way to repair for the plasterboard walls and thermolite blocks?

Any information or advice is much appreciated.

I would say you've got yourself more of a structural question than a decorating one. The cracks in those blocks look a bit concerning to my untrained eye.
