For years, I have had cracks in my render, just above the bay window rising to just above the front door; and along some bricks to between the window and door. The cracks along the burglar alarm boxes seems to be new.
Recently, I noticed some damp patches around the bay window from within the house and a musty, damp smell - which is new. This appeared after heavy, persistant rainfall.
I had damp course installed in October 2023 and the walls above that re-skimmed. So, maybe these damp patches and damp smell has been there a while, but I have not noticed, because it was masked by wallpaper and years of rising damp smells?
Someone said it might be caused by a failed lintel above the bay window.
What could be going on here and what might I do to remedy this situation?
