how do you stop creaking pipes?
every half hour or so ( as the heating cycles ) the pipes in my bedroom click / creak as they expand in the clips..

I'm thinking something like WD40 but I'm unsure of the effects that may have long term on the copper or what effects it may have on me when heated and presumably evaporated?

Hello CJ, you want to make sure they are clipped first and a gap between the feed and return pipes. Making the notches a little bigger to offer more space and lagging them can also help with noise reduction.

sorry, should have been clearer with my original post..
they are not under the floor, I live in a first floor flat with concrete floors..
the pipes run into the loft and down the walls..
it's the plastic clips on the wall that are clicking / creaking..
they are the push in type and are spaced as they slot together..
there is then a clip over cover for the pipes similar to plastic trunking..

The clips aren't usually the culprits. More likely the rads where they hang on the brackets, especially if it's a clicking/ticking noise. The plastic clips that prevent this may be missing from the cleft of the brackets where the rads sit.

New clips or insulation tape in the bracket may well solve your noises.
