No, Mr. Netanyahu. It is not antisemitic or pro-Hamas to point out that in a little over six months your extremist government has killed 34,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 77,000 – seventy percent of whom are women and children.

“Not every criticism against Israel is antisemitic,” said Tom Segev, an Israeli historian. “The moment you say it is antisemitic hate … you take away all legitimacy from the criticism and try to crush the debate.”

After the International Criminal Court’s top prosecutor sought arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his defense minister and top Hamas officials, the Israeli leader accused him of being one of “the great antisemites in modern times.” As protests roiled college campuses across the United States over the Gaza war, Netanyahu said they were awash with “antisemitic mobs.”

These are just two of the many instances during the war in which Netanyahu has accused critics of Israel or his policies of antisemitism, using fiery rhetoric to compare them to the Jewish people’s worst persecutors. But his detractors say he is overusing the label to further his political agenda and try to stifle even legitimate criticism, and that doing so risks diluting the term’s meaning at a time when antisemitism is surging worldwide.

In its annual report released this spring, Freedom House, an American democracy advocacy organization, downgraded Israel’s freedom of the press ranking from “free” to “partly free.” To anyone following Israeli news media over the past year and a half, this was hardly surprising. Freedom House focused primarily on the “unchecked expansion” of paid content in editorial pages, as well as on the outsize influence of Israel Hayom (“Israel Today”), a free daily newspaper owned by the American casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and widely believed to promote the views of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

It seems someone has touched a nerve @Odds

There’s an indisputable undercurrent of antisemitism in the GD.

Half of your threads are about it, one way or another. Stop pretending now.

There’s an indisputable undercurrent of racism and support for genocide among a few members in the GD.

Not true

No they arent

Odds threads are about the atrocities committed by Israel state

Your tribal right wing support is as blatant as it is shallow
That’s how I see it, it’s not right wing to disagree.

The sooner you realise that the better for you.

In your world when people don’t agree, they are either RW or racist, usually both.

It says more about your outlook on life than mine.

Good to see that even nwgs sgrees with me.
I still see antisemitism in here. You are included in that John.

It’s just the same as me being called right wing and racist etc. I don’t think I am at all, but people see it!!

I see antisemitism end of!!
