Hi
I have done no DIY before in my life!! Please help me!!
I have just bought my first house and realised there was damp that needed treating. THis has been done by a professional who put in a DPC of Silicone about 3 weeks ago. The living room is 3.6 x 3.7m and this is where the problem is! There is no DPM in the very uneven concrete floor and there is a crack down the middle of the room, which makes the floor move as you walk over it! I would love to lay laminate flooring in the front room but I assume I need to be careful of the new DPC?!
Looking at the floor it crowns in the middle, where the crack is, and is uneven in all four corners - more so just under the door! The depth of the uneven-ness is roughly 15mm.
What do I do??
It has been suggested on this website to lay a screed (3:1 Sharp: Cement) and put that down in the corners. I assume this is just in the corners but then do I need to put some kind of leveller over the entire floor??
I am being very blonde but could one of you kind people give me some advice and detailed instructions on what to do??
My dream would be to lay laminate flooring (T&G - moderately priced) on this concrete floor - do you think this is possible from my vague description??
Thank you all for your time - much appreciated!!
