We moved into this house a few years ago. It had previously (and recently) been extended.
It has an open-plan ensuite/bedroom layout, which is fine, but it can leave the room feeling a bit clinical. The aperture between the areas is an awkward size as the bathroom was the original house, and the bedroom was part of the extension, so the aperture was cut through an external wall.
I am considering putting in a custom folding door/screen of sorts. The idea being that the width of each section of the door is the same as the depth of the aperture.
Whilst I'm confident enough to cut some timber to size and route some insets for hinges, I have no idea on the best way to go about adding a frame and mounting it correctly, Google searches have returned nothing. Its also a very wide opening.
The lower part of the ceiling in the aperture is where I presume an RSJ was fitted.
