Hi,

A friend of mine has been doing some work in his house and the vibrations have caused the cutout cover to fall off cause the screws were taken out ages ago by the previous owners.

He has been fobbed off by the usual call centre bimbo so he's thinking of putting it back on himself. It's the plastic / bakerlite type and he's happy at just slotting it back in at least until he can get the DNO out. He's writing a letter but does not want to wait till then to cover the cutout.

Is it dangerous to do? Any precautions he can take?

He should tell them that he's got exposed connections on the incoming supply, and that this is an emergency because he has small children.
