Hi all.
I'm trying to cut a length of carpet but I'm having a problem with the finished edge. When looking at the two edges created by the cut one edge has the pile lying nicely over the edge but the other side of the cut is frayed and you can see a couple of mm of backing all down the edge. The problem is the edge I want is the frayed edge so I'm wondering if there is a way of cutting it to put the good edge on the side you want? Hope that is understandable.
Thanks.

I tried hook blades, ordinary blades and scissors the result was the same. It's the pile of the carpet the way it lies so I don't think it's possible to do what I wanted. I've cut it now and it wasn't bad as I thought it was going to be. The pile brushed over and I'm happy with it. Thanks anyway.
