Hi. We've just ordered replacement internal pine doors for an older house and some openings are up to 3/4" less than the standard 30"x78". On Checking the website of the manufacturer, they say that their stiles and rails (presumably the non-panel parts?) are veneered laminated solid wood strips designed to stop warping. The question is: if we plane down the sides (not too worried about the top/bottoms as these won't we seen) will we go through the veneer and expose stripes of laminate - or are they laminated in the other direction ie outside to inside, not front to back? We're waxing/staining, not painting, so this won't be hidden if it happens
