Cutting kitchen carcase to accommodate corner sink

I have been provided with a corner sink which needs to fit onto a corner unit carcase which has a long beam in the middle. It looks like I will have to cut across the entire width of the right hand rail panel. It seems like this would be likely to affect the structural strength of the carcase. How can I cut into this rail without weakening the carcase, or add some additional reinforcement to the carcase after cutting?

Aren't corner sinks like that supposed to go in a cabinet at 45deg to the other two? So that you shouldn't have this issue.

Wren have confirmed this is the correct unit and they expect the fitter to cut through the base rail to accommodate the sink

I am fitting it myself, not Wren. Saying "Wren, nuff said" is not at all constructive. Name any major kitchen company and someone will have an anecdotal quip about them.

Only thing major about Wren is their profit due to inflated prices on mediocre kitchens, they just sell you as many units as their “ design service” can cram in your kitchen regardless of what is needed.

What do they say about the structural strength of the cabinet after you have cut it to get the sink in ?

If the base rail needs to be adjusted, it is advised to do so. You are able to install support battens to support the unit should you wish but the unit does need modification to install the sink. The unit we have planned is designed to house this sink, and based on the information provided, no alternative unit is available

Not Wren and not a corner unit but I had to remove the central rail, some of the back and cut a chunk out of the upright to fit a 1.5 bowl inset sink into my Magnet base unit. I added a small strengthener to hold it together. Had to do some serious butchering to my other base unit to fit my induction hob too. Sometimes you just have to. As long as it holds together and you can’t see it afterwards that’s all you can do.

Where is the join for the worktop going to be.

What will support the ends of it

Thanks for the pics Mottie, looks like that's the kind of thing I'll need to do. Will have a stab this weekend. Wish me luck!
