Hi,

I have an awkward worktop detail where at at entrance to the kitchen, the wall return in only circa 480 deep. Please see the photo which also shows how the old laminate worktop was cut to make it work and made good with an edging strip.

I know this could be made looking better with a solid wood or stone worktop, but is there any better way to do it with laminate? Would it work in practice to cut a final piece of laminate as shaded in red on the second image and use a straight joint with three worktop connectors?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The way you have it now is the standard way of doing it and it saves having a long joint

Your worktop looks pretty neat why do you want to change it?

You can do it your way but it seems a lot of work for little gain

Or you reduce the depth of the first unit back to behind frame and have a step in the worktop further along .
