Cutting Metal Carpet Plates

How can I secure these while cutting? They are moving/sliding even though I have placed them between two heavy slabs. Also is a Hacksaw the tool to use? I do not have any metal cutters.

Use a vice with padded jaws, and a junior hacksaw - they are aluminium so shouldn't be much problem.
