Cutting olive off pipe

If you cut a olive off a pipe. Is it usually OK to solder on to where it has been cut off or will the indentation made it hard to solder correctly?

Not if it isn't too deep.

Olive puller are best for neat job. Other way is small saw and put slot in the olive, then blade screwdriver in slot and turn to snap it. If tidy you can solder on
