Hi all, I have an issue in a new en-suite where I could ideally do with cutting a section of a rafter out to get the soil pipe closer to the exterior wall of my house. The rafter runs parallel to the wall so would I be able to resin bolt the rafter to the load wall and then cut a section out of the rafter. Something similar has been done in the master bathroom but without taking the floor up in there I can't see exactly what they have done.

Yes, no problem. For all intents and purposes, the floor and ceiling material could be collected with a batten screwed to the wall.
Joist not rafter.

Rafters aside, who the heck did that joint in the electrical cable?
I have a feeling that there will be an undersized terminal block under that tape, leading to potential problems
once the floor has gone down.
When I say potential problems I mean circuit failure, overheating, possibly fire.
If your tiling the floor then you need to get that joint done correctly now.

As above with the wiring - the tape needs stripping, & maybe a Wago Junction box fitted.
Ref the joist and the WC and the arrangement of the joist bay items - do you want any further advice or comments?

The soil pipe you have is usually used underground
It's under...the floorboards.
Same bore and plastic as the coloured stuff, Just not as attractive as ... er... dull grey.
