Cutting upstands lengthways

What's the best way of cutting 19mm thick Duropal kitchen upstands lengthways please. Will a track saw be suitable? Thanks, Keith.

Hand held circular saw?

My old Bosch circular saw now has trouble cutting through softwood so I need to buy a new one and thought the track saw could be for both uses.

If you buy a track saw, familiarise yourself with the correct way to use them. I have a Makita one and it has no riving knife attached. Work needs to be supported properly and care taken or the saw can jump out of the track if the blade binds as mine did the first time i used it, despite using all sorts of power saws for many years. I was a bit complacent, but got away with it. It's best to clamp the guide and make sure both hands are on the saw when using. Ive seen many joiners just holding the guide with one hand while sawing with the other. If it jumps track, then could be nasty.

Once you get the hang of them though, they are great and i use mine all the time.
