Daewoo Matiz ideal first car ?

hi guys

my wife has just passed her test..what do you think of a Daewoo Matiz 800cc as a first car, just so she can get used to driving...ive seen nissan micras but most are insurance damaged or cat c and d repaiored...any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated //cheersa

The only thing i dislike about these small cars,is getting hit by an averaged size saloon car, we know who will suffer the most.

By the way, my mate bought and repaired one all for under £1200, last year, less than 150 miles on the clock!.....then sold it!

vw polo comes to mind, usual german build quality new or older reg 96onwards.

Matiz is good aswell, dont know about reliabilty or price but if its on par with a polo my opinion is towards a polo, or jap- just my thoughts thou.


i just got a 70k polo on a 98 a little old but nice with FSH for £850 for my friends she just passed aswell. just make sure it has P/S as not al do in the age unless you going for new HTH
