Hello all, new here so hopefully this is in the right place.

I have bought a new stone resin shower tray, which I opened today and noticed that, hidden behind the polystyrene, there is some damage where the resin and stone seem to have separated.

It's under the ridge around the very edge of the tray on one side.

This isn't visible when the tray is installed, so if it's just cosmetic I won't bother exchanging it. But could this weaken the tray and make it more likely to crack, particularly as it is to be installed using an easy plumb kit with legs that glue onto the tray base?

I've attached some photos showing the damage and the tray as a whole.

A quick further question - the instructions show the 8 supplied legs to be positioned on the outer circular mouldings plus 4 in a square in the middle, where there isn't really a flat area to stick them (the adhesive is on a round pad about 4" in diameter). Better to stick one right in the middle and the others around it perhaps?

Thanks

Neil

Take it back :!: and keep on until you get one that is right for the legs too . Last one I did - 3 attempts before I got a decent one . From PTS the nationwide suppliers  and 3 Twyfords basins too . Truth is the factories turn out shyte with NO quality control - then leave it to the punters to take stuff back . 21st. Century britain for you.

Cheers, that was my inclination as well - I'm aware that because of how these are moulded the underside won't be perfect, but it did concern me that it might crack in use. Will swap it.
