I'm laying 250 meters of 2 core 10mm armoured cable from the local Utility company's meter through jungle to an electric panel box to power three 24 hour surveillance cameras plus a waterproof outlet for occasional power tool use.
45 metres from the panel I've discovered a nick in the cable that has cut through the outer sheath and the covering of one of the cores (although not the wire metal itself).
I would like to know if it would be safe to wrap the nick in the one core covering with 3M Scotch 23 Rubber Splicing Tape and re-bind the outer sheath area in question or make a complete new joint / gland at this point.
If a gland is recommended what Voltage drop would occur at this Join point?
Many thanks
