I have a 50s pre-fab ex-council house with steel fascias. On the front outer edge, there is quite a bit of damage at the corner, with the fascia on the front edge of the house hanging down 4 or 5 inches and rusted at the edges. The damage is along a stretch maybe 2ft long. The rest of the fascias look old, but not damaged.

Is it possible to just repair this one section without replacing the lot? I cannot afford to replace everything and won't be able to for a very long time yet!

Thanks.

If it's steel you may find it's the fixings that have gone. Is there any chance u can take a few pics and post on here?

I can. Typo in my post - the damaged area is abut 3ft long, not 2ft.

That seems indicative of a problem with the roof felt or roof covering at the eaves, causing water to miss the gutter and go into the soffit. You'll need to deal with that first if it's the cause.

There are fascia boards that are available. If you wish to change just the damaged section alone, just tell your contractor about it. Also there are companies who sells full replacement and capping options. I can refer you to some if you'd want to.
