damaged my screen

I have an Acer flatscreen, I presume it is TFT. Earlier today I put it on the floor, and when I lifted it up again, I think I might have gripped it with my thumb on the display. There is now a vertical strip about six inches wide that is white with fine coloured and black lines running down it. regardless of whether PC is switched on or VGA cable is attached to PC.

I've buggered it, haven't I?

Yup. It needs a new panel. May as well just buy a whole new screen.

Yep, sounds b0rked.

New screens are fairly cheap now, try Aria or Ebuyer.

When you've got a new screen, you can try 'massaging' the screen to try and get it back again - although this rarely works, and you usually end up breaking the screen even more
