HI all and thank you all for the previous advice.
Just found another job to be fixed, In my loft one of the struts has been damaged by a previous owner who attached a Tv aerial to it with nails in the shape of 5 inch wedges and the strut is split and only 2 x 1 inch of strut is left but its not bending.
Roof is a traditional 100 year plus rafter and purlin with 4 struts and 2 collar beam ties all 4 x 2 inch timber.
I want to replace the damaged strut with similar timber but i can only find 47 x 100 mm easi edge c16 timber and not 50 x 100mm timber.
Is 47 x 100 c16 timber the new metric equivilant and is it it ok to use ? thank you.
